Between March and October 2008, Lisa Tylee MBE* will do a sponsored cycle challenge, by attempting to cycle approx 9000 miles around the USA.
Besides raising funds, Veniños aims to raise awareness of the lives of street and shanty town children.
In order to complete the challenge, Lisa will spend at least 171 days on her bike, cycling an average of 50 miles a day. Her journey will take her through 24 states plus Washington DC.
What makes this particularly impressive is that Lisa will be cycling with one leg as she was born with no knee in her left leg.
Events are being planned in every major city Lisa passes through and she will be available to give talks to schools, corporate and community groups en route.
Money raised will go to community education projects supported by Veniños - Venezuelan Children in Need.
* MBE - an honour awarded to Lisa by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000 for her work with street and shantytown children in Venezuela
