Machu Picchu Trek
3rd - 12th September 2010
The Inca Trail is by far the most famous trek in South America. In just 26 miles (45km) it manages to combine beautiful mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest, subtropical jungle and, of course, a stunning mix of Inca paving stones, ruins and tunnels. The final destination of the trail just cannot be beaten: Machu Picchu, the mysterious "Lost City of the Incas".
Our adventure begins in the Inca Capital of Cusco - a fascinating city, full of colonial charm, hidden deep in the Andes Mountains. We spend our first day acclimatising to its altitude of 3,200m by taking a trek around the Inca sites surrounding Cusco.
Then we're off to conquer the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The 4 day trek will be tough and will certainly test us, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the sun gate, the breathtaking views across the Andes, and experiencing the history and culture of the Incas, it will all seem more than worthwhile.
So don your boots and join us on the mystical Inca Trail Challenge!
